It's Flu Season!

Annual influenza vaccination is recommended for all people aged 6 months and over.

At Enriching Health Medical, your vaccination will only cost $15 after a Medicare rebate, or for some people, it’s free!

Flu Vax FAQ

Everyone 6 months and over is recommended to get an influenza (flu) vaccine each year. The flu vaccine protects you, but it also can help protect those around you.

The Flu Clinic environment is fast-paced, so we recommend that instead you book a normal 15 minute or longer 30 minute appointment with one of our caring General Practitioners who can compassionately support through the vaccination process. Please see our Fees page for more information on pricing for appointments with General Practitioners.

Approximately 20 minutes. After your vaccination, we’ll ask you to sit in our waiting room for 10 minutes as a peace-of-mind precaution.

The influenza vaccine is free for people 6 months and over with the following conditions:
  • Cardiac disease
  • Chronic respiratory condition
  • Immunocompromising condition
  • Haematological disorder
  • Chronic metabolic disorder
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Chronic neurological condition
  • Long-term aspirin therapy in children aged 5 to 10 years.
Please discuss with your doctor if you’d like to discuss your eligibility for a free vaccine.

The only absolute contraindications to influenza vaccines are for people who have had an anaphylaxis reaction after a previous dose of any influenza vaccine.

People with an egg allergy, including history of anaphylaxis to egg can safely receive all influenza vaccines. If you have a serious egg allergy, please let us know at the time of your vaccine appointment.

For most people, one annual flu vaccine is recommended.

Children under 9 getting the influenza vaccine for the first time need 2 doses, 4 weeks apart. This strengthens the immune response to all vaccine strains.

For people without Medicare, your vaccination appointment will cost $20.
